WHY RUMBLING WATERS?

more than a name

The name Wetumpka comes from the Muscogee Creek phrase meaning "rumbling waters" aptly named for the Coosa River, which flows through the heart of Wetumpka. The Coosa meets the Tallapoosa to form the Alabama River. The Alabama joins the Tombigbee to create the Mobile River, which flows into Mobile Bay and the Gulf. The Gulf merges into the Atlantic, which spreads to the other four oceans and to the ends of the earth. What starts in Wetumpka doesn't stay in Wetumpka. Making Elmore County look like Heaven isn't just about Elmore County, it's about bringing Heaven to earth. Rumbling Waters Church exists to see people set free from sin to become who God created them to be. From Wetumpka to the world, and until Elmore County looks like Heaven.

“

Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.

”

Until Elmore County looks like heaven.

We are building tomorrow, then finishing what we started — making room for more people to encounter Jesus, find belonging, unlock purpose, and impact lives. Every drop builds a future.
